Breaking Waves
Here, the foreboding power of ice becomes a tool to help understand, analyze, and project the destruction of water. The video presents viewers with the cyclical nature of what we, as humans, are all knowingly and unknowingly doing to affect our environment.
Every one of our human actions can be considered in relation to water, and the effects, reverberations, and physical impact of our actions can be felt by the environment. The panels here represent the physical effects through layered materials, force of impact, and black and white photography. Whether or not we are able to feel it or always understand it, each action has a repetitious, ongoing effect that eventually reaches a breaking point.
